Happy December! I’m currently writing this from a hotel room in New Orleans, where everything is beautifully decorated for the holidays.

My friends over at MegaFood invited me to come for the ShiftCon conference so I’ll be here for the next couple of days networking and learning about all things health, sustainability and wellness. I’ll try my best to report back with something interesting but in the meantime, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and that you enjoy my favorite finds from November!

Favorite Breakfast: Cardamom Oats with Pear & Nut Butter. I started baking with cardamom recently and I feel like I’ve been missing out for my entire life. It has such a unique flavor that just screams winter. Imagining how it tastes with the pear and nut butter in this oatmeal is giving me all the cozy feels!

Favorite Shoe: Tom’s Plaid House Slippers. Speaking of cozy, how adorable are these slippers? I’ve been wearing them around the house the past couple of weeks and they are super comfy. I also love that they’re vegan AND my purchase gifted a child in need a pair of shoes. Conscious shopping doesn’t get better than that, my friends.

Favorite Smells: P.F. Candle Co. These candles, you guys. I bought several along with a few diffusers for our new place and they smell sooooo good. I highly recommend the spruce, teak and tobacco, pumpkin spice, and orange cardamom. Just to name a few. :)

Favorite Cookie Craving: Salted Caramel Thumbprint Cookies. I don’t usually go for caramel cookies but one look at these babies and my jaw dropped to the floor. Can you believe they’re vegan, gluten-free and grain-free?? I think I might be able to make an exception for caramel in this case. ;)

Favorite Instagram: SennaRelax. This travel blogger is based in Switzerland and her pictures always make me swoon. Seriously though, who wants to spend winter in the Swiss Alps with me?

Favorite Soup: Red Curry Kuri Squash Soup. I’ve never cooked with kuri squash but this soup is making me want to! It’s made with lemongrass, fresh ginger, coconut milk and lime. Light but still satisfying enough to keep you nice and warm.

Favorite Book: The Magnolia Story. Chip and Joanna are back!!! Did you watch the first episode?? How awesome was that dog spa?! Now I have to have one. Okay, let’s talk about their book. I picked up a copy on Small Business Saturday at a locally owned bookstore and haven’t been able to put it down since. It’s hilarious and so sweet. If you’re a Fixer Upper fan then you absolutely have to read it!

Favorite Dessert: No Bake Brownie Batter Truffles. Too soon for another dessert? Nah. Mostly because these are made with ingredients that are good for you. That’s right, guilt-free chocolate brownie truffles.  You can thank me later. Or Amanda. You should probably thank her.

Favorite Colorful Meal: Moroccan Aubergine & Chickpea Stew. Okay, here’s the veggies. I can’t stay away from the good stuff for too long, you know that. I have a feeling this stew is just as flavorful as it is stunning. It almost reminds me of a tagine, but better.

Favorite Album: Kings of Leon. I already loved the Kings but their new album has made me fall even deeper. It’s a winner.

Favorite Cozy Meal: Kabocha Two Bean Chili. I’m obsessed with Traci’s idea to add roasted kobacha to chili. I can imagine it gives it such a glorious creamy texture while also adding a punch of extra nutrition. This is definitely a must try!

Cranberry Orange Bread (Vegan)

Favorite Dessert: Vegan Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes. Because I like to leave things on a good note. Especially when it involves chocolate…in fudgy cupcake form.
