Our Wedding: The Ceremony

The moments leading up to the ceremony were actually rushed and a little stressful. After my makeup was finished, I thought it looked too heavy so I kept going back and forth with the makeup artist to try and lighten it up. Then in the midst of that, I had multiple people asking me questions and the photographer and the videographer buzzing around me. It was somewhat nerve-racking but other than postponing the ceremony by 45 minutes, everything worked out fine.

I was able to take a few deep breaths and watch through the window as our mothers and my grandmother were seated. My three-year-old nephew was our ring bearer and he did such a good job. He’s a little on the shy side which was why he was rubbing his eye but I was so proud of him when I saw these pictures.

My uncle walked me down the aisle to an instrumental version {with the violin and ukulele} of Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.

Brandon told me afterward that he was already feeling emotional when the ceremony started but as soon as he heard the song, he couldn’t hold it back any longer.

I looked towards his back as we came around the corner but it wasn’t until I saw his face that my eyes started to well up too.

Our friend Joel did an excellent job as the officiate and began by performing a reading that Brandon I had picked out together.

We also wrote our own vows which were hard to get through without crying but it made it more meaningful to both of us.

We didn’t see each other before the ceremony so afterward we walked away from the house to have a minute to ourselves.

Brandon always makes me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world and his reaction in that moment was no different.
