Friday Favorites
Happy Friday everybody! Do you guys have anything fun planned for the weekend? I’m hoping to fit in a much needed date night with the husband but other than that the schedule is open which is fine by me. I’ve been enjoying the low-key weekends cuddled up in my sweatpants.
So today is the first day of a series on the blog where I share a collection of my favorite recent finds. I enjoy reading other blogs as much as I enjoy running my own so it gives me an excuse to take a break from working on my stuff and share other people’s stuff. That way we all get to look at stuff. :)
I hope you see something you like too! Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.
Favorite Soup: Miso and Soba Noodle Soup with Roasted Sriracha Tofu and Shiitake Mushrooms. Alanna creates some of the most beautiful, jaw-dropping recipes I’ve ever seen and this soup is no exception. Excuse me while I go wipe the drool from my face.
Favorite Escape: Sansone Beach, Tuscany. For when soup isn’t quite enough to warm you up. How about a day at a secluded beach followed by some wine tasting at a few Tuscan vineyards? YES, PLEASE.
Favorite Guide: January Produce Guide. Every month Kate shares a produce guide for what’s currently in season along with a corresponding collection of delicious vegetarian recipes. I find it to be so helpful and always look forward to seeing what’s next.
Favorite Planner: Plum Paper Designs Planner. I just ordered this planner and I can’t wait for it to come in! I used Emily Ley’s Simplified Planner last year and it was really nice but this year I wanted something that I could customize a little more.
Plum Paper’s are perfect- they offer a ton of different layouts and optional add ins, like a blog planning section. The type A in me is so excited!
Favorite Healthy Snack: Peanut Butter Goji Granola Bars. Goji berries are one superfood that I rarely buy but this recipe makes me want to change that ASAP.
Favorite Weeknight Dinner: Slow Cooker Butter Chickpeas. A little bit of prep for a warm meal full of delicious spices and healthy protein. Count me in!
Favorite Animals: 32 Pictures That Will Make You Say Awwwwww. OMG, these are so cute. Number six had me cracking up!
Favorite Drink: Copycat Gingerberry Kombucha. I’ve been meaning to try my hand at brewing my own kombucha ever since I got Julia’s book last summer, but laziness always gets the best of me and I end up buying a bottle of GT’s Gingerberry on a weekly basis. Well she just shared a recipe to make that exact same flavor at home so now I have no excuse. It’s time to start brewin’ some booch!
Favorite Relatable Post: A Few Thoughts on Turning 30. A lot of bloggers are really good at sugar coating everything but Amanda opens up and pours her heart out in this post. It might have been a vulnerable moment for her but it made me feel good to know that I’m not the only one struggling with these thoughts.
Favorite Dessert: Flourless Double Chocolate Brownies. I can’t remember the last time I made brownies but after seeing these bad boys, I know the next time will be very, very soon. That crackly crust kills me!
I love seeing other bloggers favorites from around the internet! Those animal pics are killingggggg me!! And those brownies – OMG.
Oh my gosh, that doooooooooog! I love how baby animals are 98% belly and I just want to rub that thing all over my face! He’s just too cute.
Love these faves! I’m telling you, we must have the same taste in food, cause I’m drooling all over my screen right now. Those brownies? UGH stop.it. Can we bake a batch in Tuscany and take them to the beach?!
Thanks so much for favorite-ing my ‘buch! You’re not lazy at all, m’dear…kombucha’s totally a project, especially when just starting out. We’ll get ya going on the brew one of these days. Until then: GT’s Gingerberry ;)
Saving this post! That first soup -aahhhhhh! I want now! Also, want one of those planners. Love that it has the option for a blogging schedule. So cool! You need to make your own kombucha!! I’m going to check out that post along with the book you picked up (didn’t want to clic mid-reading your post because I want to work on staying focused on one thing at a time haha). I love these type of posts. I need to bring it back :) Happy lazy weekend (you can count on me doing the same!)
Thanks for including my slow cooker chickpeas! I’m so excited to check out your planner recommendations. I am a planner junkie! I used to love the Live with Intention planners and Erin Condren and just switched over to a Day Designer. I like it so far although I LOVE the idea of a blogger section!
Hi Sarah! Yay for Friday Favorites. I loved that post Amanda wrote about 30 as well. And those brownies … oh man, I want them. This is a fun one, and I like the new series already. Happy Friday!
I love your take on sharing favourite links, girl! And thanks so much for including a few of mine <3 But can we talk about planners for a second? Because I just got my Erin Condren in the mail a few days ago and I'm completely smitten with it. Well, smitten and intimidated — it's so pretty that I don't want to mess it up
Happy Friday, love! Enjoy your weekend!
I was going to buy goji berries today, and I’m kind of kicking myself now when I see those granola bars. Everything on this page looks like things that would be my favorite too!
That food guide is so great and incredibly helpful. Its always good to know what produce is in season.
Hi Sarah! Love your selections. I really enjoyed Amanda’s article too and that Kombucha is saved on my Pinterest. I am so ready to escape to that place in Tuscany! I am over cold weather. Enjoy the weekend!
Those pictures are adorable!!!!
Decided- i need to make my own miso soup! Sorry Wagamama!
Well, now I want brownies and chickpeas! I took a little hiatus from dessert last week but I think I need some chocolate in my life.
Also, Tuscany… ahhhh I’m pretty much always dreaming of Italy! Last time I was in Italy was a visit to Venice for just a few days, so I’m hoping I get to do a nice weeklong vacation in Italy sometime in the next few years. Pasta, gelato, gorgeous views, wine, romantic scenery… it’s pretty much my heaven :)
OMG the animals!!!!! I’m still at my grandma’s house and miss Emma like crazy! And now I want to snuggle with all the animals!! hahaha
Hope you had fantastic weekend lady!!
That Tuscany beach is a dream! Tuscany is famous for its dreamy countryside, when I visited this fascinating Italian region I didn’t think about exploring the coast. Look like I missed something cool. Great post full of great inspiration!
