September Favorites | Making Thyme for Health

A cool breeze rolled in this weekend and it’s starting to feel like fall has officially arrived. Insert jazz hands here. I’m writing this with the windows open and Lucy and I are curled up under a blanket on the couch. Doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

So I’m going to apologize in advance for the ridiculous amount of pumpkin in this month’s favorites. I know there are so many different things to get excited about for fall but right now I’m having tunnel vision for all things pumpkin. Halp!

I hope it’s started to cool off where you live too and that you’re able to open the windows and enjoy some fresh air. In the meantime sit back and enjoy everything pumpkin spice! ;)

Favorite Cozy Outfit: Super Soft Sweatpants. This outfit depicts how I feel all fall/winter long. Comfy, relaxed, somewhat lazy. I was in need of a new pair of sweatpants and recently bought a pair of these eco fleece pants (with a 40% off coupon) and they’re extra cuddly and soft. Now I just need a good pair of socks. Any recommendations?

Favorite Pumpkin Treat: Pumpkin Pecan Scones with Maple Glaze. Wearing that outfit, eating these scones, and drinking a warm cup of tea is my idea of a perfect fall morning. I’m dying to see if I can make a gluten-free version with any success. Wish me luck!

Favorite Fall Salad: Roasted Sweet Potato and Fig Salad with Maple-Cinnamon Cider Dressing. A big bowl of greens with roasted sweet potato is the way to my heart. This luscious fall salad gives me all the feels.

Favorite Healthy Meal: Vegan GF Pumpkin Lentil Falafel. Adding pumpkin to falafel is such a genius idea. I love how easy they are to make and that they’re freezable too!

Favorite Fall Getaway: Asheville. We’re going back to Asheville at the end of this month and I can’t wait to see all of the leaves changing colors. I’ve already got a list of places to eat (including a few we’ve already tried) but I’m still trying to decide on the best hike. If you have any recommendations please share!

Favorite Drink: GoodBelly Probiotics Coconut Water. So I know some probiotic products can be a little scammy (like probiotic candy?) but I’m all for getting more of that good bacteria where I can. Usually it’s from dairy-free yogurt and sauerkraut, then I recently found this coconut water at Whole Foods and added it to the mix. It’s a little tangy at first but I love that it gives me electrolytes and probiotics in one.

Favorite Convenience Product: Vegan Valley Cheez Sauce. Another awesome Whole Foods find was this cheeze sauce from Vegan Valley. Holy cannoli, is it freaking delicious! I had the nacho flavored version first and I swear to you it tasted exactly like real queso. I’ll even admit that it’s better than my nacho cashew cream (and a heck of a lot more convenient too). The ingredient list is really similar so I might have to revisit my recipe to see if I can make it just as good.

Favorite Healthy Snack: Pumpkin Pie Protein No-Bake Bites. Made with dates and coconut flour, these little bites are packed full of fiber and the ever so vital mineral magnesium. They’re perfect to keep on hand to help hold you over in between meals!

Favorite Fall Comfort Food: Creamy Wild Rice Mushroom Soup. I’m throwing it back to one of my favorite soup recipes because I’m so in the mood for it right now and thought you might be too. Blended cashews make for a luxurious creamy soup that pairs perfectly with cooked vegetables and wild rice. I can’t wait to make it again very soon!

Favorite Makeup: Bare Minerals Original Foundation. I recently switched from a liquid foundation to this mineral version and I love, love, LOVE it. It goes on so natural that it looks like you’re not wearing anything at all.

Favorite Lipgloss: Kopari Coconut Love. Another favorite beauty find is this coconut oil lip gloss from Kopari. The ingredient list is short and recognizable and it’s super hydrating too.

Favorite Breakfast/Dessert: Pumpkin Turmeric Chia Pudding Parfaits. If you follow me on Instagram then you might have seen this pumpkin turmeric chia pudding already. It’s an old recipe I decided to remake with MegaFood’s Daily Turmeric in place of the ground turmeric. I forgot how amazing this recipe is. If you’re looking for a quick and easy breakfast idea that you can prep in advance, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Favorite Indulgent Dessert: Vegan Pumpkin Cake with Cinnamon Cashew Icing. I couldn’t not end this post with pumpkin and I can’t think of a better recipe than this drool-worthy cake. Makes me want to have a party just so I have a reason to make it!
