Friday Favorites
Yay Friday! I’m so ready for the weekend to be here.
I’m not one to rush life or anything but this has been a long week for me and I’m in need of a little R&R. Brandon and I are thinking of taking a trip to Berkeley to stock up on a few fall vegetables for our garden but other than that, things should be pretty low-key which is exactly what I have in mind. :)
I hope you all are able to relax with some nice fall weather this weekend! In the meantime, sit back and enjoy a round-up of my favorite recent finds.
***************************************************************************************
Favorite Indulgence: Apple Cider Donuts from Apple Hill. I swear I can still taste the fresh doughy deliciousness from our trip to Apple Hill last year. I’m craving those donuts like crazy! I really hope we get to go again before fall ends.
Favorite Cup of Joe: Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte with Salted Pumpkin Spice Syrup. I’m not a coffee drinker but there’s something about fall that makes me want a warm PSL. I love that Angela’s homemade version is made with real, nutritious ingredients. I definitely see one of these in my future!
Favorite Fall Getaway: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Colorado is one place that I’m dying to see during the fall. The bright yellow colors of the trees against the backdrop of the majestic Rocky Mountains looks breathtaking.
Favorite Beauty Product: 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara. I’ve gone through two tubes of this mascara since the beginning of the year and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s made with all-natural and cruelty-free ingredients, it works great and it smells so good that I almost want to lick the wand. But I won’t. Because that would be gross.
Favorite Scent: Sydney Hale Co. Fig + Vanilla Candle. I picked up my first Sydney & Hale Co. candle during our trip to Austin a few years ago and immediately fell in love with the company. Their candles smell amazing, are high quality and they donate 10% of their profits to dog rescue.
Favorite Look: 32 Perfect Fall Outfits. How cute is this idea to layer a denim shirt with a chunky fair isle sweater? It look so cozy and comfy!
Favorite Duo: Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon. I randomly came across this link from Buzzfeed and had to share it because anything these two do together makes me smile. My personal favorite is the “Wrapping” Paper SNL Skit. Hilarious!
Favorite Salad: Kale Salad with Kabocha Squash + Maple Dijon Dressing. I never would have thought a salad would make my mouth water but it definitely just happened. Everything about this looks amazing and perfect for fall.
Favorite Tot: 4 Ingredient Zucchini Tater Tots. Tater tots are one of my all-time favorite snack foods and I adore the idea to sneak some green into them. I bet kids would go nuts over them too!
Favorite Treat: Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies with Salted Date Caramel. Three words: SALTED DATE CARAMEL. Holy sheisse.
Baaaahahaha! That video! JT and JF are such characters…what I would give to have them as roommates. Loving your favies, as always…I’m now craving a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and a ginormous kale salad with kabocha squash.
Can you handle that…aaah still laughing.
xoxo
I am dying to make it to Apple Hill this year! I’m sending David for post from last year to talk him into going in November. I’d love to go this month but we’re doing another Whole30 and you know i’ve gotta try one of those donuts!
I think the Whole30 diet would be okay with a few donuts for the day. ;)
Oh, now I want to go back to Apple Hill!! … on a day that it isn’t super crowded.
Love that mascara, too. One of my faves.
Yeah, that’s the one downfall of fun places in Cali. They’re always packed!
Those salted date caramel cookies made me weak in the knees as well. And I may be biased, but the Rockies are absolutely the most perfect place in the fall. I hope you manage to get some R&R this weekend, lady. It’s Thanksgiving for us up here in Canadaland, so I’ll probably be spending a tonne of time in the kitchen playing with food.
I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving for you already! Eat lots of delicious food for me!
I totally want those zucchini tots! Enjoy your low-key weekend. I plan on having one of those as well. Excited to just enjoy some of the nice fall weather and relax!
Thanks Kelly! Low-key weekend FTW! ;)
I’m headed to Colorado next week and one day will be spent at Rocky Mountain National Park- cant wait!!
Oh what perfect timing! I can’t wait to see your recap!
Those apple cider donuts look unreal! I’m actually planning on making some homemade apple cider donuts (from the blog The Faux Martha) soon because I have a jug of cider I want to use up. They’re baked not fried, but they still look super delicious. I would send some your way if they could suvive the cross continent trip! ;)
Aw, you’re so sweet Chelsea! I’m going to have check out that donut recipe! :)
Aww, Justin and Jimmy look so young, haha! I love them too! I also love Coloroado and Rocky Mountain NP, it is so beautiful there! I always tell my husband I wouldn’t mind moving to CO someday! I hope you guys had a nice low key weekend and I’m happy that it is almost the weekend again! Thanks so much for including my tater tots! :)
